The purpose of a DUI evaluation is to conduct an initial screening and to obtain significant and relevant information from a DUI offender about the nature and extent of the use of alcohol or drugs in order to:
Identify the offender’s risk to public safety for the Circuit Court of Venue or the Office of the Secretary of State.
Recommend an initial intervention to the DUI offender and to the Circuit Court of Venue or the Office of the Secretary of State.
All evaluations will consist of a face-to-face individual interview.
All evaluations will be conducted in a face-to-face interview.
DUI evaluation services are provided to offenders under the same terms and conditions as our other services.
E.M.A.G.E.S, Inc. utilizes a sliding fee scale and a payment method that allows clients to meet their financial obligation to E.M.A.G.E.S.

The determination of risk shall be minimal, moderate, significant, or high as follows:
Minimal Risk: The offender has no prior conviction ordered supervision for DUI; no prior statutory summary suspensions; no prior reckless driving convictions reduced from DUI; a BAC of less than .15 as a result of the most current arrest for DUI; no other symptoms of substance abuse or dependence.
Moderate Risk: The offender has no prior conviction or court ordered supervision for DUI; no prior statutory summary suspension; no prior reckless driving conviction reduced from DUI; BAC of .15 to .19 or a refusal of chemical testing as a result of the most current arrest for DUI; no other symptoms of substance abuse or dependence.
Significant Risk: The offender has one prior conviction or court ordered supervision for DUI, or one prior statutory summary suspension, or one prior reckless driving reduced from DUI; and/or a BAC of .20 or higher as a result of the most current arrest for DUI; and or other symptoms of substance abuse.

The offender has symptoms of substance dependence (regardless of driving record) and/or within the 10 year period to the date of the most current (third or subsequent) arrest; any combination of two prior convictions or court ordered supervisions for DUI, or prior statutory summary suspensions, or prior reckless driving convictions reduced from DUI, resulting from separate incidents

The purpose of DUI risk education is to provide orientation to offenders regarding the impact of alcohol and other drug use on individual behavior and driving skills, and to allow offenders to further explore the personal ramification of their own substance use and abuse.

Information on alcohol as a drug
Physiological and pharmacological effects of alcohol and other drugs including their residual impairment on normal levels of driving performance
Other drugs, legal and illegal, and their effects on driving when used separately and/or in combination with alcohol
Substance abuse/dependence and the effect on individuals and families
Blood alcohol concentration (BAC) level and its effect on driving performance
Information about Illinois driving under the influence laws and associated penalties
Factors that influence the formation of patterns of alcohol and drug abuse
Information about referrals for services that can address any identified problem that may increase the risk for future alcohol/drug related difficulty.
Risk education courses will include a minimum of 10 hours of classroom instruction, divided into at least four sessions held on different days. No session will exceed three hours in length. A pre-test and post-test is administered to each client. In order to successfully complete risk education, the client will attend each session in its entirety and in proper sequence and achieve a score on the post-test of at least 75%. Upon successful completion, a DUI Risk Education Certificate of Completion will be issued for each client.
Prior to enrollment in risk education classes, the DUI client must provide a copy of his/her completed Alcohol and Drug Evaluation Uniform Report indicating that risk education is recommended.
